Music

Our Music Programme is designed, to provide a well-rounded curriculum, which instills a lifelong love and deep appreciation of music.

Students will be taught music from a wide variety of styles and genres and of different cultures, including that of our own culture. We constantly endeavour to develop our students into sensitive listeners, thus giving them life skills which will help them in all walks of life. We focus on providing all the necessary skills, through a thorough grounding in the elements of music, developing vocal and instrumental skills and providing technology to compose, arrange and record their own compositions.

Students in Lower Elementary (Grades 1, 2, & 3) engage in fun-learning musical activities, developing their vocal and rhythmic skills and in Upper Elementary (Grades 4 & 5) they will be introduced to instrument training, playing the recorder and the ukulele. Students in the Senior School, will learn the stylistic elements of music, in addition to Theory of Music, instrumental training - keyboard and guitar and playing in an ensemble. We also have ICL activities which include, Rock Band, choir and keyboard ensemble.

As of June 2018 New North Campus is an IB PYP Candidate School
